About Us
Uyirutti Microgreens was founded by Selvi Arunachalam, a passionate plant lover and a proud daughter of a traditional farming family.
Growing up with deep roots in agriculture, and later becoming part of a family engaged in agriculture-oriented business, nature has always been a part of her life. As time moved on and her children grew up, she felt a strong urge to build something of her own—something meaningful, something that aligned with her love for plants and healthy living.
Her journey began with exploring various small-scale and cottage industry opportunities. She attended multiple online and offline training programs, trying to find the right path. However, one challenge remained constant—most businesses depended heavily on external vendors for quality. This raised a question she couldn’t ignore:
“Will I confidently feed this to my own children?”
The answer led to a turning point.
A critical health situation within her family made her rethink priorities and focus deeply on nutrition and preventive health. This sparked her interest in microgreens—tiny greens packed with powerful nutrients.
But there was a problem.
Quality microgreens were not easily available. The supply network was limited, prices were high, and variety was lacking.
Instead of continuing the search for a reliable supplier, she decided to become one.
What started as a personal interest soon evolved into a purpose-driven venture. Leveraging her passion and background, she began cultivating microgreens herself—starting small, learning every day, and constantly improving.
At Uyirutti Microgreens, every tray is grown with care, curiosity, and commitment. The learning never stops—insights come not just from research, but also from fellow growers, students, and most importantly, customers.
